Midnight Malibu Dirty Soda - A Smooth, Beachy Twist on a Trend

Prep Time 5 minutes
Total Time 5 minutes
Servings: 1 servings

Ingredients

  • Cola (chilled)
  • Coconut-flavored syrup or coconut cream syrup
  • Blackberry or black cherry syrup (for the “midnight” hue)
  • Vanilla syrup (optional but recommended)
  • Fresh lime (for a quick squeeze)
  • Half-and-half or coconut coffee creamer (chilled)
  • Ice (preferably pebble or crushed)
  • Garnishes (optional): lime wheel, fresh blackberries, toasted coconut flakes

Method

  1. Fill the glass with ice. Use a tall 16-ounce glass and pack it almost to the top. Colder is better for clean layering and crisp flavor.
  2. Add syrups first. Pour 1 tablespoon coconut syrup and 1 tablespoon blackberry (or black cherry) syrup over the ice. If you like it sweeter, go up to 1.5 tablespoons each.
  3. Squeeze in lime. Add about 1 teaspoon fresh lime juice. It brightens the drink and keeps it from tasting flat.
  4. Top with cola. Slowly pour about 10–12 ounces of chilled cola into the glass to mix with the syrups. Leave a little room for the cream.
  5. Finish with cream. Gently float 2–3 tablespoons half-and-half (or coconut creamer) over the top. You’ll see a cloudy swirl that looks “midnight” as it mingles with the berry syrup.
  6. Optional vanilla touch. If using, add 1–2 teaspoons vanilla syrup and give the drink a gentle stir from the bottom up once or twice.
  7. Garnish and serve. Add a lime wheel or a couple of blackberries on a pick. Drink right away while it’s ice-cold.
